Best Places in St Paul for Corned Beef and Cabbage 2018

St. Patrick's Day is a wonderful time of year for anyone, young and old. On the day that everyone is a little bit Irish, the beer flows, the food is piping hot and you can eat as many Reuben sandwiches as your stomach will hold.

Though Anderson is without it's annual St. Patrick's Day Parade and Clemson is on Spring Break with no plans for St. Pat's fun in too many places, the Electric City looks to pick up the slack and have some fun.

Most of that fun comes from the ingestion of corned beef and cabbage, shepherd's pie, bangers and mash and other wonderful dishes originating from across the pond. So, hoist a pint of Guinness, raise a glass of Jameson and speak your best toast. Then stuff yourself silly this St. Patrick's Day.

McGee's Scot-Irish Pub and Restaurant

116 W. Orr. St.

864.261.6401

For more than 20 years, McGee's Scot-Irish Pub and Restaurant has been the place to go for St. Patrick's Day fun. Their concerts are legendary, their food is always inspired by the Irish and the crowds are always raucous and respectful. Though always on the menu, the corned beef and cabbage tastes a little better on St. Patrick's Day and this year McGee's will be including a bounce house for the kids along with some face painting and fundraising for KidVenture 2.0.

In addition, find some shepherd's pie, bangers and mash, honey mead chicken and a bit of lamb meatloaf alongside the many starchy goods that will come out of the kitchen.

Uptown Lounge and Restaurant

301 N. McDuffie St.

864.225.9552

Anderson's resident Irish bar owner, Shane Dowler, always has a bit of fun prepared for Anderson on St. Patrick's Day. With the help of a large outdoor patio area and greenspace, the Uptown Lounge is awash in green, white and orange from March 16-18 during the three-day celebration.

The Uptown has become known for their corned beef and cabbage plates that will go on all day from Friday through Sunday. Plus you can find some kids activities, bouncy castles and live music throughout the weekend as well.

St Patrick's Day is Saturday, March 17.

Growler Haus

313 N. Main St.

864.225.0057

The original Growler Haus in Anderson always does a little something on St. Patrick's Day. But this year, they are going a little bigger than before.

On Saturday, enjoy barbecue and green beer starting at noon and running all day and night. The smell of smoked meat will waft from the adjacent parking lot to the Growler Haus while beer flows from the taps. It might not be traditional Irish fare, but be sure the toasts will be long and the singing harmonious from Growler Haus on Saturday.

Wild Wing Cafe

119 Interstate Blvd.

864.222.4033

It's not every day that Wild Wing Cafe and Ireland get put in the same sentence, but March 17 is an exception to every rule. Wild Wing Cafe in Anderson is putting on IrishFest 2022 featuring a huge benefit in the parking lot of the eatery.

Enjoy green beer, green cotton candy, green sno-kones and green Jello shots throughout the day along with some tasty wings and other special menu items.

BANGERS AND MASH: Sausages and mashed potatoes.

Timms Harley-Davidson

4110 Clemson Blvd.

864.224.1531

What could be more Irish than free pancakes? OK, maybe a lot of things are more Irish than free pancakes, but that shouldn't stop you from getting a nice cushion before the Guinness starts flowing and the Jameson shots start coming.

From 9-11 a.m. on Saturday, Timms Harley-Davidson will be offering free pancakes and the beer starts to pour starting at noon. The whole St. Patrick's Day even will only go from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., but it will be Irish fun for those six hours.

Plenty of green beer will be poured this Saturday for St. Patrick's Day.
